Tile and grout repair and regrouting
Most tiling problems do not need a full re-tile. Cracked and drummy tiles, failing grout lines, black mould in the shower and leaking silicone can nearly always be put right in a day or two — and doing it early is what stops water reaching the substrate and turning a repair into a strip-out. We repair domestic and commercial tiling across London, Essex and Cambridge.

Why grout fails
Grout is not the waterproofing — it is a filler. When it darkens, crumbles or washes out, it is usually because the tiles were bedded with voids underneath, the joints were too narrow, or a standard cement grout was used somewhere it gets constant water. We rake the joints back properly and re-grout with a flexible or epoxy grout suited to the room, rather than smearing new grout over the old.
Loose and drummy tiles
A hollow sound under a tile means the adhesive never bonded across the back of it. We lift the affected tiles, clean the bed back to a sound substrate, re-fix with a solid bed of the correct adhesive and colour-match the grout so the repair disappears into the rest of the floor or wall.
Leaking showers and wet rooms
Water staining on a ceiling below a bathroom is almost never a grout problem on its own. We open up the failing area, check the tanking and tray junction, re-tank where it has broken down and re-tile — so the leak is fixed at the layer that is supposed to hold water.
Matching existing tiles
Where the original tile is discontinued we will source the closest match, lift spares from a low-visibility area such as under an appliance or inside a cupboard, and use those for the visible repair.
